STEAM for All hosted its first-ever, virtual Hour of Code on Saturday, December 5th from 3-4 PM PST. This free event was an exciting, educational experience for all participants! Over 150 students in grades 3-8 attended the event, all of which were eager to dive into the world of computer science. Organized by STEAM for All volunteers, Hour of Code provided an excellent opportunity for participants to not only understand the importance of computer science and but also learn the fundamentals of programming in a one-hour workshop. After the introduction, the students were divided based on their grade levels into breakout rooms, which featured fun, interactive coding activities in a variety of languages (Scratch, HTML, CSS, Python, etc). Congratulations to all of our participants, and we hope to “see” you at future events!
