Award System –
PVSA stands for the President’s Volunteer Service Award which gives citizens a chance to get national recognition for the service they do. It is a civil award that was established by George W. Bush in 2002. Hours are counted during a 12 months period from April 1 to March 31. In addition to the award, the recipient will also receive a letter from the President of the United States. Volunteers are also asked to keep track of their hours (which can be logged using Voluntu.io).
Voluntu is a new web application that STEAM for All is used to facilitate the management of volunteer hours. A dedicated group of student volunteers created this application that is available for anyone who is interested in volunteering for STEAM for All and its nine various sub-organizations. To join voluntu go voluntu.io and sign up with your name and email.
In the application, volunteers can sign up for events, track their hours, and organize their volunteer schedule in STEAM for All. Normal volunteers will have their hours approved by their supervisors to ensure that everyone is counted for.
